An "Epiphany" - The word "ceiling&

Thu Nov 12, 2009, 4:14 AM
Today, in Spanish our teacher asked us how to say ceiling in Spanish. I didn't even remember to answer him as I had an sudden idea (lightbulb lit up) that the word "ceiling" might have come from the Spanish or French word of sky: CIEL. I announced this to my two other (and only) classmates, as well as my teacher (There are ONLY four people in my class!), saying, "Ceiling must have originated from the word CIEL because they both begin with C-I-E- L AND they are both above us!- I pointed to the ceiling on top of us. They all thought it was reasonable. My classmate described that I had an "epiphany", and it was indeed!

I was so proud of myself until I got home and looked up on the built in dictionary on my mac and expected my interpretation to be right. Instead, I first found out that ceiling was spelt c-e-i-l-i-n-g, AND it is originated from the Latin word celare, meaning to 'conceal'; it has nothing to do with the sky.

Wow, what a disappointment, I mean 'conceal" is such a boring word compared to "sky" for me. But it is good that I can now spell "ceiling" correctly again. I wonder why no one in my class pointed out to me that ceiling is spelt C-I-E-L. I guess we're all pretty stupid.

Uh... hello... This is ganna sound wierd but, How did you find the story called "Conflicted Souls".
:iconde1in:
I'm not really sure but,
I think I typed Naraku and Kikyou in google, and there were these people talking about the couple, and a turtlequeen2 person posted something about her fanfiction, I was curious so I searched her up and found her story.

Why do you ask?
